If the Phone Doesn’t Ring, It’s Me

153517539.jpg  I’m glad to say that this will be a low key weekend. I’m watching some hoops on tv, went out to eat yesterday, nothing big, and then laundry and more hoops, Sat. evening and Sunday morning mass, along with bowling sunday. Next weekend should be fun, even though it looks like rain in Eugene for the Oregon HS hoops finals. The rain is only a factor because we are going golfing, although my back might appreciate a downpour.

KU looked rather good today against a borderline Dr. Jekyl A&M team. Collins has looked more aggresive each Sat. that I have seen them play the past two weeks. And how about that dunk by Rush? We haven’t seen that in a couple of years. The UCLA game, I’m not sure if it was on in the midwest, but I was flipping back and forth on that one watching during KU timeouts, what a comeback, two games in a row for them close calls. The over the backboard shot at the end, that was nice. Desperation shot, whatever, it went it. That might hurt KU or Texas though for a #1 seed. Anyone excited for the Missouri Valley Championship game tomorrow? Look out next week, the Big Sky Conferenc tourney is next week, Wed-Thur I think, in Portland’s own Rose Garden. Look out if Portland State plays in the championship game, I might be storming the court.

I just finished (a few minutes before the KU game) reading the New Testament. I began reading back in Aug, and I’ll admit several sidetracks along the way. I hit some stalls back in Sep/Oct. and again in Dec. Since I came back from vacation in Jan., I’ve been putting more time into reading. A bit each day goes a long way, not in terms of how many pages did I read, but in terms of how do I approach the day, or how do I get through the day. I’ve got a long road ahead of me, but I’m gaining momentum. It’s nice to know who your best friend is. I’m certain that I’ll need to re-read several parts, which I have already done, before I move on to Psalms. I think of you all every day, and remember you in my prayers.
