If the Phone Doesn’t Ring, It’s Me

3070164116.jpg  I’m glad to be back posting, I think late jan. was the last time  that  I checked in. I have been quite pleased with the weather in Portland of late(with the exception of the past 2 days). It has been near or over 60 for the past 2 weeks, with 2 days reaching the 70’s. I’m sure the rain will soon return more consistently, but winter is surely over, and to me, it wasn’t that bad to start with. The light rain sure does beat the cold winters any day. But maybe once I would like to spend 10 minutes warming up my car and scraping ice while a 10 mile per wind wind drops the temp. to about 2 degrees in the morning…

I’m hoping that KU can keep up the momentum and pull it off against KSU. We shall see in about 1 hour. Beasley is a sweet player, no doubt about it. Danny Manning hasn’t been mentioned in the top players off all time in college hoops yet. Dick Vitale claims that he isn’t quite top 5 material, another reason why I just don’t think that he knows what he’s talking about. I would LOVE to be in the field house for this game.

Myself, I’m still playing hoops on Fridays, for about an hour or so. My back holds up, but it still takes a full week to recover, which makes me wonder if I should even be playing (but it’s fun). I am happy that this week I took a few jogging steps to the hoop from the right wing, and jumped off of 2 feet, just hoping to maybe scrape the rim, since I’m not a 2 foot jumper. I was almost able to hang on it, giving me hope that I still have a few hops left. Goal for the next 2 months: work myslef up to maybe dunking a volleyball, which I haven’t been able to do for about 1o years. Which to me isn’t such a huge deal, since my brother Damon could do that as a sophomore in high school. Now there’s a guy that could jump.
