I’m back in Portland, and ready for some rest before the road back to employment begins. I will have meetings that start this week, and into next week. I’m very glad actually, as the constant flow of trying to see everything and do everything each day sort of wears me down. As a former colleague once said to me, “Nick, this is one of those days, I just call a reset day.” By that, it’s like the old nintendo video game machine, when you needed to start over, just hit the reset button and try it again, and just refresh the current situation, and chill out. At least, that’s how I saw it. And that’s how I see it today.
Seattle was a nice city. It was typical(at least in the mind of a midwestern boy) weather, cool, some rain, cloudy. From what I heard, they have had a stretch like that for a while this summer, which they usually don’t get. Either way, I enjoyed, was able to check out some of downtown, and the street Broadway, which for those of you that know about old school rap, or don’t know, Sir Mix A Lot and his posse were there. They had a song from the old days. I also went to a Mariners game, and it was fun to see some former Royals like Jermaine Dye and Raul Ibanez. How good would the Royals be with Dye, Ibanez, Beltran, Damon…ah, forget it. Hopefully this new crop of young ones can renew the hope and continue on in the 10th edition of the rebuilding process in KC. Anyhow, we strolled through the stadium, and sat in about 5-6 different spots. Not a bad view in the house(not quite as good as shorthorns I suppose), even in the third level. I strongly recommend the bbq spot behind the Mariners bullpen, and get the bbq pork/link combo. $9 of goodness. A ton of bbq pork piled on top of a hidden gem: the hot dog. There is some sauce called “The man”. A pin drop size is lethal. Coastal Kitchen is another recommendation for a dinner destination. Order anything, it’s all good. Near downtown. The train ride to and from wasn’t bad. Cost efficient, only $60, nice scenery, and time wise it’s not too bad, 4 hours. I hope someday to play at the golf course that goes along the east side of the track, it looks fun. Can’t remember the town though. NBA video posted as well today.
My brother did call me on Sat. with a funny bit. He called to ask if I wanted to play some golf. He was headed to the driving range(in KC) and asked if I wanted to come along. I need to get back on the course. I was finally close to the 100 range, but now, I might be Mr. 105 plus again. So here he is, right on my tail, only a few strokes behind me, and I’m falling off. The funny part is that I have been playing for over 10 years and he just started this spring.
Family, hello. I noticed that you have checked out the site recently. I look forward to xmas in Kansas indeed. I hope that everyone is doing well. Keep plugging along, enjoy those birthday parties, because this is without a doubt the season of Bday parties in that neck of the woods. Lot’s of good food for sure. Is the limbo coming out tonight?

I had a comment. But now I’m so impressed by the fact that this blog remembered my name and email I can’t remember it. You spared no expense. Cheers.
